What are Meta Ads?
Meta Ads run across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and the Audience Network. They're managed through one platform — Meta Ads Manager — and let you show image, video, or carousel ads to very specific audiences.
How is a Meta Ads campaign structured?
Every Meta campaign has three levels:
- Campaign — your overall objective (e.g. traffic, leads, sales).
- Ad Set — your audience, budget, and placements.
- Ad — the actual image, video, or text people see.
How do I target the right audience?
Meta lets you target people by location, age, interests, and behavior. You can also upload a customer list to create a "Custom Audience," or let Meta find similar people using a "Lookalike Audience" — often one of the most effective targeting options once you have some customer data.
How do I choose a campaign objective?
- Awareness — get your brand seen by more people.
- Traffic — send people to your website.
- Engagement — get likes, comments, and shares.
- Leads — collect contact info via a form.
- Sales — drive purchases, often paired with a pixel for tracking.
What metrics should I track?
In Ads Manager, focus on a few key metrics: CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions), CTR (click-through rate), and CPA (cost per result). A low CTR often means your creative or targeting needs work; a high CPA usually means it's time to adjust your audience or offer.
How do I launch my first campaign?
- Create a Meta Ads account and install the Meta Pixel on your website.
- Choose a campaign objective.
- Define your audience (start broad, then narrow using results).
- Set a daily budget — start small, around $5–10/day.
- Upload your ad image or video and write your copy.
- Launch and check results after 3–4 days before making changes.
